Note: the weighted mean formula and the frequency distribution formula use the same calculations. This is why they closely resemble each other.

I have a TI-84 plus silver. It doesn’t allow me to place the comma between L1 and L2. Any ideas?

The comma key is located directly above the 7 key. I just used my TI-84 Plus Silver calculator and had no problems with this method.

If the error you get is: DIM Mismatch, then the data wasn’t entered correctly. Check to make sure that there isn’t any duplicate or missing fields in your table.

Note: Using L1, L2 would give this error if you were following the tutorial, because L1 has more data then L2.

I am having the same problem with the comma! When entering in 1-Var Stats I cannot enter a comma between L1 and L2. I can however enter a J in Alpha mode. Which has to mean the key is working… totally lost here!

Any hints for a newbie?

What a headache. After further investigation, I have discoverred that two different TI-84 Silver Editions may have a different prompts for completing the Stat functions. One is the same uses the standard method, the other has a different prompt. I have included updated the Weighted Mean page to include instructions for both solutions.

I have tested on a TI-83 Plus, TI-84, TI-84 Plus Silver Edition and TI-89. If you are still having trouble, please provide the model of your calculator. That way I verify/create/test a solution. I appreciate your feedback and would love to improve your statistic knowledge.
