Geometric Mean TI-84 | TI-83 Example

Joestat wants you to use your TI-84 or TI-84 calculator to create a geometric mean using the following data set.  Use L5 to enter in the data.
Example data set {105%, 106%, 108%, 112%, 98%}

  • First, Convert data set to decimal.
    [1.05, 1.06, 1.08, 1.12, .98}

  • Second, enter the data into your TI-83 or TI-84 calculator (in our case we will use L5)
    Instructions are available on how to create this list at create a list TI-84 | TI-83 tutorial.
  • 3rd calculate the geometric mean

  • Note we have just complete
    Geometric Mean =
    You have completed the geometric mean of sqrt[5]{1.05cdot1.06cdot1.08cdot1.12cdot.98}
    in our TI-84 or TI-83 calculator.
Congratulations, you have successfully calculated the Geometric Mean in you TI-84 or TI-83 calculator.
